    "Old Blue"

Welcome back to Bike Town! As many of you know, I've been away for a while, and lots of my more steady fans have let it be known to me that this site needs some MAJOR new updates. I'll put those in soon, guys, so calm down. What you might not know is the reason for my much-bemoaned absence, and that is the shocking and unexpected death of Old Blue. You may react strongly now.

    WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED
A bright yellow Volkswagen Jetta happened, to put a fine point on it. Yes, fellow fans, Old Blue and I were involved in our own little tragedy. I was taking a left turn from the proper lane and lest you doubt, of COURSE I signaled properly and checked behind me first but what seemed like only a millisecond later, I was on the ground and Old Blue was... well, pretty much blown to smithereens. I can still hear the death rattle of her derailleur clicking against those obscenely warped spokes. And let me say this: I know I've been pretty outspoken against mandatory helmet laws in this great state of ours, but I feel I must say that without mine (yes, I was wearing it, but BY CHOICE) I think I might not be posting this on the web today.

    WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Old Blue was scrapped, and I've been taking emotional leave (I really loved that bike!!!), but that's not all. My right arm is in a sling even as I type this (and this has taken me a long time, in case you were wondering), and until I'm feeling a little better, don't expect much by way of updates. I should be fully back online by June, when Boomer and I head off to Yellowstone to do some trails, and updates will follow regularly soon after. In the meantime, here are the usual pictures and links. RIDE ON!!!
